Indications of Ebatrol
Ebatrol is a member of the class of drugs known as antihistamines. Various allergy disorders are treated with it. It eases signs like rashes, swelling, and itching.
Pharmacology
Ebastine is a long-acting and selective antagonist of the H1-histamine receptor. The blockage of peripheral receptors stays stable after repeated treatment. Following oral administration, ebastine is readily absorbed and undergoes significant first-pass metabolism. Carebastine, a pharmacologically active acid metabolite, is almost completely transformed from ebastine. assimilation over the non-micronized definition.
Dosage & Administration
Tablet:
Adults (more than 12 years of age): 10 mg (one tablet) once daily.
Children (6-12 years of age): 5 mg (half tablet) once daily.
Syrup:
Children (2-5 years of age):5 ml once daily (up to 5 ml in severe cases such as Perennial Allergic Rhinitis).
Children (6-12 years of age): 5 ml once daily (up to 10 ml in severe cases such as Perennial Allergic Rhinitis).
Ebastine may be taken with or without food.
Interaction of Ebatrol
When ebastine is used with either ketoconazole or erythromycin, the plasma level of ebastine rises, resulting in a longer QTc interval. Ebastine had no effect on theophylline, warfarin, cimetidine, diazepam, or alcohol pharmacokinetics. Alcohol plus diazepam's sedative effects may be amplified.
Contraindications
Patients who have previously tested positive for Ebastine or any of its components.
Side Effects of Ebatrol
The most common side effects are headache, dry mouth, and drowsiness. Less commonly reported side effects to include abdominal pain, dyspepsia, nausea, and insomnia.
Pregnancy & Lactation
Pregnant women should avoid using fenofibrate.
Precautions & Warnings
During Fenofibrate therapy monitoring of liver function tests every 3 months for the first year should be performed and therapy should be discontinued if enzyme levels persist above three times the normal limit. Use in pregnancy & lactation Pregnancy: Fenofibrate is not recommended for pregnant women. Lactation: Fenofibrate should not be used in lactating mothers. USE IN CHILDREN Safety and effectiveness in children have not been established. Because intoxication with Thyroid preparations may have serious consequences.
